jds mosque

The mosque is conceived as a low, rectangular, and linear composition, grounded in simplicity yet marked by a soaring minaret that symbolizes the five daily prayers in Islam. The spatial journey is carefully choreographed: upon entry, the ceiling is intentionally low to evoke humility, before gradually rising and opening toward the surrounding landscape, reflecting the spiritual ascent of worship.

The façade is anchored by a custom interpretation of the Rub al-Hizb, engraved with bespoke calligraphy of the word Allah. This motif aligns with the same geometric form placed at the center of the qiblah wall, orienting worshippers toward the Kaaba with both physical and spiritual precision.

A shallow reflective pond surrounds the mosque, serving multiple roles: cooling the air through evaporation on hot days, offering the calming sound of water, and casting mirrored shadows that enhance the sense of transcendence. Together, these elements create an atmosphere of serenity and devotion—an architecture of humility before the Almighty God.
